Quality rules
Average starting material makes average results. It means if you want rosin of great taste, quality, fine texture and translucent color, you need to use outstanding quality flowers. The quality of your concentrate will highly depend on the “gardener’s know-how” as well as on the freshness of the flowers. The best way is to extract flowers as soon as possible after they are dried and cured. Go fresh and you will know the difference.
Humidity is king
Another important factor influencing your rosin yields is the humidity and moisture content of your flowers. You’d better check that the relative humidity content of your buds is at least 55% to 62% for optimal results.
How to measure humidity
You can check the moisture content of your flower quickly by using either an analog hygrometer or a digital hygrometer. You can increase the humidity levels of your starting materials pre-set humidity packs that help you get your flowers to the ideal moisture level.
Genetics matters
Don’t be afraid to experiment to discover the best yielders, bearing in mind that some cannabis strains are known to do better than others (for example indicas and hybrids usually generate better results than sativas). Generally said, the yield, flavor and quality are determined by the genetics of your plants as well as on the way they were grown and treated.
